Chris Monaghan is now calling Nashville Tennessee his home. Prior to heading to Nashville, the Harford County, Maryland native tallied more than 365 solo acoustic shows in seven states and three countries, wrote and recorded his freshman and sophomore Ep with Nashville producer Kim Copeland and LA producer Shea Welsh respectively…all by the age of eighteen.
His latest Ep release “Take My Hand” is available on iTunes and other online stores and via his website.
Chris is just driven, period. Couple that with his dynamic guitar skills, smooth vocals, and his skill drawing the audience in and leaving them wanting more, bigger things are bound to be on the horizon.
“I love to play live. Performing and seeing people react to my songs is exciting to me,” says Monaghan. He has played multiple times for discerning and appreciative standing room only crowds at the world-famous Bluebird Café, The Listening Room and other Nashville venues. Besides Tennessee and his home state of Maryland, Chris has made his way, with guitar in tow to Virginia, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and even two international dates, Ontario Canada and Bermuda. Each step of the way he continues to grow a loyal fanbase of avid listeners and supporters.
Asked about who influences his own personal sound, Monaghan responded, “If I had to pick one artist, John Mayer would be my biggest influence. Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnson, Ben Rechter and Jason Mraz are a few others I really look up to.” Chris listens to all genres of music and appreciates and blends different aspects into his pop rock sound.
In 2013 Nashville producer, Kim Copeland, and her business partner Susan Tucker, were so impressed with Monaghan (at age 15) that they signed him to an artist development deal. Chris cut his first Ep with Copeland entitled “Shameless”. The title track went on to be chosen as the official song of the 2013 Cal Ripken World Series where Chris was also asked to perform for the international sold out crowd at the Aberdeen, Maryland complex.
As recent as February 2016 Monaghan performed with Kim at her “in the Round” show at The Bluebird Cafe. Promoting the show on her website she spoke of Chris highly by saying “…Chris is a triple threat: great songwriter, accomplished musician, soulful singer. Prepare to fall in love with this hot young artist.” On that note, meet Pop artist, Chris Monaghan.
